TCPN Retreat Fast Approaching
The Twin Cities Privacy Retreat is fast approaching! The full-day session costs $179, and you can register at www.twincitiesprivacy.com. Don't miss the best chance all year to connect with the top privacy people in town. Below are some key updates from the conference leadership:
- 143 people from 50 local organizations have registered, leaving 17 slots left. Last year they sold out.
- They have a lead keynote confirmed: Mit Spears, former general counsel to the FTC, will take participants behind the scenes at the FTC, states attorneys general, and plaintiffs' attorneys to describe how data-breach cases are prosecuted and how you can prepare for them. Stu Ingis, a Hill lobbyist, will provide an update on privacy developments in DC.
- There will be seven session tracks: retail, finance & insurance, healthcare, government & academia, privacy law, privacy operations, and privacy 101.
- The Certified Information Privacy Professional exam will be offered, perhaps for the only time in town all year. For existing CIPPs, the day counts as 6.5 CPEs. We are also pursuing CLEs.
