The Anatomy of Security Disasters
Mr. Ranum has witnessed many security disasters and has extracted a few common themes of the typical melt-down. Generally, a security disaster appears to cause a severe disconnection between the senior-management layer and the technical staff. However, the question arises: are disasters caused by that very same disconnection? In this presentation, Mr. Ranum offers some observations as to why security disasters happen and why they will never stop happening.
